Tough Night Ends Hot Streak for Trevor Frank at Plymouth

Lady Luck is a fickle beast. Trevor Frank has just happened to lean mostly toward the “bad” side of things this season.

Frank began the night by pulling a #35 pill to start the night, putting the Raceway Hats/Frank Motorsports #21f 5th on the grid in Heat #1. Frank would lose spots early due to the #73 of Rory Welch losing control in front of him after some contact and backing Frank up, killing his momentum. The 2020 B Mod rookie would rally to gain the 2 spots back and finish where he started, in fifth, putting him into the A Main.

Trevor would roll out 13th for the 25 lap feature. Frank quickly used the hooked up surface to slide into 11th in the early laps of the event, and start to work on the outside top 10 cars. Then, about ⅔ through the race the #73 car found himself behind Frank and drove into his left side, then turned toward the #21f on the backstretch in retaliation for the heat race earlier on in the night and tore the door panel ½ way off the Frank Motorsports entry, and nearly flipping the B Mod over into turn 3. Frank was forced to pull off with extensive cosmetic and internal damage to his car, and was officially scored 18th.

Frank was less than optimistic, and understandably frustrated after yet another night ending with bad luck.

“Rough night,” Frank began. “It’s one thing when it’s a racing deal, but when something is done on purpose to you with the intent to damage your car it becomes all the more frustrating.” The Sheboygan, WI native then looked to the rest of the season. “We’re gonna assess the damage and see where our season is headed from here. Thank you to everyone who supports and sponsors this deal. We’re gonna rebuild this thing and come back even stronger.”

Frank actually moved up one spot in the Cellcom B Mod division point standings at the Plymouth Dirt Track, from 11th to 10th, after last night. However he would lose some ground to his main competitors in Rookie of the Year points, the #25 of Jim Fischer and #07L of Brendan Ostrowski, as they now sit 17th and 18th in points respectively, 73 points back of Frank.
