“It’s definitely progress from the first couple weeks.” Tyler Tischendorf was somewhat dejected after yet another DNF in MSA competition, but as far as laps turned, this past Saturday at Plymouth was a marked improvement from the opening two weeks.
Tischendorf began the night with yet more issues, this time a fuel flow problem that the team quickly sorted out after hot laps.
“We fought a fuel issue right off the bat.” Tischendorf said. “But we got it figured out pretty much immediately and were ready to go for the heat race.”
The Waupaca, WI native started 5th in his heat race, using the hammer down bottom lane to stay in that spot after the initial start. Throughout the 10 lap race, Tischendorf continually stalked the 11 car or Tony Wondra before eventually making the move stick with 2 laps to go, gaining himself the 4th position at the checkered. The spot gained was enough to advance himself to the 25 lap feature later in the evening.
Tischendorf lined up 16th for the A Main, and at the drop of the green, began to fight for positions. Tischendorf was fast almost everywhere on the track, running through the middle and bottom against fellow #TeamMAS driver Tyler Brabant and others as he made his way through the tightly packed MSA field. Unfortunately, while running a stout 13th, the Green Bay Blizzard 26T’s engine overheated, and Tischendorf was forced to retire from the event. Once again, the speed was there, just not the end result.
“We we’re running really decent I think.” Tyler said about the night’s events. “Definitely an improvement over the first couple nights, but we’re still chasing the results we’re due for. Things can only get better!”
Next up for Tyler Tischendorf Racing is a double header weekend with the MSA. This Friday, the 360’s will visit Beaver Dam Raceway for the 2nd time in 2021 along with the Wisconsin WingLESS Sprint series, with tickets being available at the track in Beaver Dam, WI. Saturday night the series is backat The Dirt Track at Plymouth for a regular PDTR program.
