Well, that didn’t take long. Tyler Tischendorf has had 4 races since his season opening engine issues cost him and the Green Bay Blizzard 26T Team their first 3 nights of the year. Those races have gone like this; 16th, 14th, 8th, and now 5th this past Saturday night at Plymouth Dirt Track Racing.
Tyler began his night with a blistering heat race win. Beating a stout 9 car field by over a straightaway and taking his first race win of 2021. The result also put the 26T on the outside of the second row for the night’s 25 lap A Main.
The feature was a tough outing for Tischendorf in some areas. A rubber down racetrack meant that for most cars, coming off of the bottom lane was a sure way to lose positions. As Tyler began to lap cars, staying on the bottom became impossible, and yet he’d still lose two places in the end. A great battle with Travis Arenz (again), was the highlight of the race for Tischendorf, eventually coming home with a 5th place finish and the team’s first Top 5 of 2021 and first since Beaver Dam last season.
“I’m super happy with the way the car feels right now.” Tischendorf said about the Top 5 run. “It honestly never missed a beat on Saturday at Plymouth, I just lost some ground in lapped traffic. But all in all I couldn’t be happier with a Top 5 after the start to the year we had. Can’t thank my crew and partners for helping me get this car back to where it should be. We’ll look to do a little better this week at Plymouth!
