Trevor Frank Earns Second Podium of 2021 At PDTR

“In this sport you’re always trying to get faster and try new things to get the edge.” Trevor Frank has finished an astounding 3rd, 4th and now 2nd this season at Plymouth Dirt Track Racing. Yet he’s still working to find the speed necessary to log that first career A Main win.

Frank rolled off 3rd in B Mod heat 1, but didn’t stay there very long. By the end of the first circuit, Frank found himself challenging for the lead and passing Jim Fischer for that lead in turn 1 of lap 2 and never looking back. Frank fended off a late race challenge from Shane Long but eventually prevailed for his second Heat Race win in 2021.

“We tried some stuff in the heat, but I definitely didn’t like how the car felt but was able to come away with another heat win.” Frank said. “I was adjusting to new things as a driver. In this sport you’re always trying to get faster and trying new things to get the edge. Sometimes it backfires a bit, but we still locked in a good starting spot in the feature.”

Frank started second in the 25 lap A Main, and struggled a bit early on.

“We lined up second,” Frank began. “But I let the 8 (Jesse Cullen) get around me early on and we dropped to third.” Frank then began working on now second place running Shane Long in the 59 car to gain the spot back.

“It was a fun fight with the 59 for second, and eventually I found a way around him.” Frank said. That freed the American Senior Benefits of Wisconsin 21F to chase down Jesse Cullen for the win.

“I started to reel in Jesse, but he was just better and had a big gap.” Frank said about the closing stages of the race. “We just ran out of laps. I’m happy with the result, but we’re always striving for more! Doing some homework and hoping to finish one spot better next week!”

Next up for Trevor and the Frank Motorsports team is this Saturday night, back at Plymouth for another weekly show. Racing begins at 5:00.

Trevor Frank and the entire 21F team would like to thank their 2021 partners for helping them be able to compete this season!
