Trevor Frank Earns Heat Win and Third Podium of 2021 at Plymouth on Saturday

“We’ve just kept persevering and pushing through the adversity.” After a few weeks of bad luck and wrecked racecars, Trevor Frank and the Frank Motorsports crew finally reeled off a solid night, which may have just been the best of the 2nd year driver’s career so far.

Starting from the pole of his heat race, Frank grabbed the lead and never looked back. Grabbing his sixth Plymouth Dirt Track Racing heat race win of 2021, the Sheboygan, WI native raved about the handling of his car.

“It was just digging so hard in the heat race.” Frank said. “We made a couple changes since last week to our early night setup and it worked right out of the box.”

A massive invert for the feature put Frank in the 8th starting position. Luckily, working his way through traffic hasn’t been a foreign concept to the American Senior Benefits of Wisconsin 21F Driver.

On the initial start, Frank was patient and held his 8th starting spot, but it was elbows out after that. Putting a daring 4 wide move on three other cars into turn three, Frank moved into the 4th position after just 2 laps around the ⅓ mile oval. After that, Frank once again used patience to grab third place several laps later, and then began to work on the 17S of Shane Long for 2nd.

“I knew we were faster than the 17S,” Frank said. “But I had some damage from an incident earlier in the race so I didn’t want to push the issue on the front of the car or move him too aggressively so I just waited until I got an opportunity.” Frank lined up on the outside of Long on a restart late in the race, and sailed past on the cushion to take the runner up spot from the 17S.

As the laps wound down, Frank began to reel in leader Justin Green, but it was too little too late and the 21F ran out of laps to take the lead. Frank brought home his third podium finish of 2021, earned the high points scorer at Plymouth on Saturday, and closed the gap at the top of the points standings between himself and Justin Bauer to just 12 markers.

“”It just feels good to have a good, clean run after the challenges of the last few weeks.” Frank said about his performance. “Huge thank you to everyone who’s stood by me through thick and thin. We see and hear the negativity and yet we always choose to push through it and move on to the next week.Hopefully this is the start of a new hot streak!”

Next up for Trevor and the Frank Motorsports team is this Saturday night, back at Plymouth for another weekly show. Racing begins at 6:00.

Trevor Frank and the entire 21F team would like to thank their 2021 partners for helping them be able to compete this season!
