2020 Sport/B Mod Rookie

Won 2nd Ever Heat Race in IMCA Sport Mod

Top 5 in Back to Back Races at Plymouth Dirt Track

Trevor Frank was born on February 15, 2000 in Sheboygan, WI. His first exposure to racing in the family would be when his brother, Brandon, took an interest and started racing 4 Cylinders at the Plymouth Dirt Track. His mother, Melody, also works at Road America in Elkhart Lake, WI, so racing was a staple in the Frank family.

Frank would then take up photography as a hobby and along with his mother form Frank Motorsports. They would quickly become one of the best track photography and printing businesses in Eastern WI, and still are to this day. Frank would shoot races at numerous tracks around the state such as Plymouth Dirt Track Racing, Gravity Park in Chilton, WI, and the prestigious Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, WI.

By the late 2010’s, Frank’s brother Brandon would retire from racing to focus on family, and the Sheboygan native would look for new ways to scratch his racing itch. In the Fall and Winter of 2019, Frank would make the decision to buy an IMCA Sport Mod. After the COVID-19 break was over, Frank would immediately turn heads. In his first heat race at Gravity Park, Frank would start last and drive to 4th, making the feature in a 30+ car show. After starting 13th he would drive up to 8th before another car chopped Frank, ending his night. Then in his 2nd career heat race (also at Gravity Park), Frank would start on the pole and dominate the event, winning by nearly half a track.

Unfortunately, that would be where Frank’s good fortune started to collapse. A week later, the #21f car would lose breaks at Gravity Park and pancake the outside wall, resulting in severe damage and forcing the team to sell the car. They would then invest in a 2015 Slick Chassis that same week, and a Friesen Crate motor to power the new car. After many nights suffered with setup issues and getting involved in wrecks out of their control, the Frank Motorsports camp broke through with a 4th place finish at Plymouth Dirt Track Racing. The next week, at the same track, they would find themselves starting on the pole of the feature. Frank would initially check out on the field, leading by straightaway margins at times. After two late cautions allowed the field to catch up, Frank would slide back to finish 4th once again. But after their horrific start to the season, those two results rejuvenated the team, and Frank now leads Rookie of the Year standings at Plymouth.

Frank’s plans are up in the air for 2021 as of now, but as far as 2020 goes, Frank was recently involved in a massive crash at Plymouth where another driver intentionally wrecked the #21f in a massive way, and the team has since been re-evaluating their plans for the rest of the season. If all goes to plan, Frank would finish the season out at Plymouth, and then assess their status for the 2021 season.
