“Our bad luck has to run out soon.” Two races, two DNQ’s for Tyler Tischendorf Racing. The disappointing results may hurt even more considering just how fast Tischendorf has looked so far this season in the limited running the 26T has had.
Qualifying once again went well for the Waupaca, WI based team, with “Headstand” turning a lap good enough for 2nd in his group. That effort would put the Green Bay Blizzard 26T in the 3rd starting spot in their heat race.
It lasted even less laps than last week’s heat.
On turn 1 of lap 1, Tony Wondra made heavy contact with Tischendorf and sent the 26T into a wild spin, that somehow didn’t end with the young driver upside down. Repairs were made by the team, but the car still had considerable damage and Tischendorf struggled throughout the race and nursed the car home in 10th place. Another rough night that didn’t represent the true speed of the team so far this season.
“Again, we had a solid start to the night.” Tischendorf said. “2nd quick in our group was great, and we started up front in the heat race and our hopes were high. But then I got driven into in turn one of the heat. Somehow we didn’t flip, but even after making repairs for the B it just put us way behind the 8 ball all night. We’re due for a good result now.”
Next up for Tyler Tischendorf Racing is this Saturday night at The Dirt Track at Plymouth for PDTR opening night with the MSA/PDTR 360 Sprints. Tickets will be available at the track.
