2023 MARA Midgets Rookie of the Year Miles Doherty will make his debut at the Chili Bowl Midget Nationals presented by NOS Energy Drink this coming week behind the wheel of the SOBER Racing #31M machine.
“Our team is beyond excited for this opportunity.” The 15-year-old driver stated. “We hope to bring everything we learned in the 2023 season and get to the next level. The goal is just to be as competitive as we can in the most prestigious race of the year.”
In Doherty’s debut midget season, the Delmar, IA racer earned 5 Top 10 finishes and consistently improved results throughout his 2023 campaign, competing primarily with the Illinois based MARA series as well as several Badger Midget events.
“We’re still in the learning stages of this.” Doherty admitted. “I’m hopeful this experience can help me learn more as a driver and help the team improve as a whole as well. Most of all we hope to have fun and have a solid week.”
Doherty will pilot the Shay Sassano owned #31M on Thursday for his Prelim night, and then participate in the Main Event Saturday against over 300 of the best drivers in the country.
The 2024 Chili Bowl Midget Nationals presented by NOS Energy Drink will be broadcast in its entirety LIVE on FloRacing, with live timing and scoring provided by My Race Pass.
