Korey Weyant to Drive Goldesberry 4 at Lincoln, and Family Owned 99 Silver Crown Carat Springfield

With Bailey Goldesberry sidelined with minor injuries in an accident outside of racing, Korey Weyant has once again been tapped to fill the seat of the Goldesberry Racing #4 machine.

The 2020 MOWA Sprints Champion will compete with MOWA once again at Lincoln Speedway in Illinois at the popular “Night Before the Mile” event. Weyant has ran the Lonewolf Petroleum #4 once earlier this season, finishing 11th at Jacksonville. The Springfield, IL native also raced to a USAC IMRA Midget win at Spoon River this past weekend, and has multiple Top 10 and Top 5 runs in Non-Wing Sprints and Midgets throughout the 2021 season.

On Saturday Night, Weyant’s focus will shift to the USAC Silver Crown Series and the Bettenhausen 100 at the massive Springfield Mile at the Illinois State Fairgrounds. Weyant has had mixed results at the mile in the past. One memorable moment was in 2018, where Weyant put on a storming drive in the B Main to earna transfer and nearly take the lead, but only for his engine to expire late in the race.

40+ USAC Silver Crown entries are expected for the 58th Annual Bettenhausen 100, including the likes of Chris Windom, Ken Schrader, Logan Seavey, Brady Bacon, Chase Stockon and more. A tough field for sure, but with his experience in Silver Crown cars at “The Mile”, look for Weyant to make some noise this Saturday night.

Friday night’s race at Lincoln Speedway will get underway with Hot Laps at 6PM CT, with racing to follow. Tickets are available at the track to see the action.

This Saturday’s race at The Illinois State Fairgrounds kicks off at 9:30 AM with the USAC Driver’s Meeting with Silver Crown Practice at 10 AM. Qualifying, Heat Races, Semi-Features and the 100 Lap Main Event will follow.

Tickets will be available on race day or by calling the State Fair office at 217-782-1979. Info and tickets can also be obtained by calling the Track Enterprises office at 217-764-3200.

Every lap of the 58th Bettenhausen 100 will be broadcast LIVE on FloRacing.
