Jordan Goldesberry Looks to Bounce Back after Wisconsin All Star Weekend

Every season has its ups and downs. Unfortunately for Jordan Goldesberry and the Rockstar Energy Drink #65 team, they experienced the latter this past weekend racing against a stacked All Star Circuit of Champions field at the Dodge County Fairgrounds and Plymouth Dirt Track.

“This weekend was a tough one.” Goldesberry said. “We had an extremely tough heat race group at Dodge County and ended up in the B Main. Just tried to keep our nose clean after that.”

Goldesberry finished 2nd in Friday night’s B Feature, and advanced 3 spots in the A Main to finish 18th. Saturday at Plymouth looked to be a much more promising night from the start.

“We qualified really well at Plymouth which should have set us up really well, but a mistake in the heat race while running 2nd sent us to the B Main again.” Goldesberry admitted.

The 2022 IRA Champion took the B Feature win, and was advancing quickly through the field in the feature. After breaking into the top 15, JJ Hickle’s right rear tire came apart exiting turn 4, and the #97 car dove for the infield, attempting to leave the racing surface. Unfortunately, Goldesberry was directly in Hickle’s path with nowhere to go and the two collided. Goldesberry went for a wild ride through the infield and ended his night on the business end of a wrecker.

“It’s unfortunate.” Goldesberry stated. “We had a lot of speed, which is encouraging, but the results don’t show it. We’ll regroup and come back stronger at Sycamore and Angell Park.

Even with the lack of top flight results this past weekend, Goldesberry holds onto the IRA championship lead over Lubbock, TX’s Brenham Crouch as the season nears the halfway point.

Goldesberry and the Rockstar Energy Drink #65 team will continue their 2023 IRA Sprints campaign on Saturday, June 10th at the Sycamore Speedway, where the Springfield, IL native picked up a 2nd place finish in 2022. Then, the series heads back to Angell Park Speedway for the annual Norm Nelson Classic. Tickets are available at the track for both events as well as on Ticket Hoss for Sunday’s event at Angell Park. FloRacing will provide live coverage of the IRA all season long.
