Goldesberry Endures Bad Luck at Sycamore, Looks Ahead to IRA Double

Lady Luck strikes again.

While running well inside the top 10 and on course for another stout early-season finish with the IRA, Jordan Goldesberry was sidelined by another car slowing in front of the Rockstar Energy Drink #65 and hard right-rear contact snapped the torsion arm.

“Just an unfortunate deal.” The Springfield, IL driver said of the incident. “Nothing I could do in that situation, and that’s racing sometimes. Luckily it wasn’t worse and we’re looking forward to three events this weekend with the IRA.”

First up for the 2022 IRA Champion was scheduled to be the Harry Neitzel Tribute Friday night at the Dodge County Fairgrounds in Beaver Dam, WI. However the event has been postponed to a later date due to extremely high winds expected on race day.

Saturday the IRA heads to Plymouth, WI for the Scott Semmelmann Memorial at the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds, a track that Goldesberry has visited victory lane at.

“Plymouth can be hit or miss for sure. It seems like we’re either very fast or just off the mark there. Either way the facility is amazing and the crowd is always huge so I'm looking forward to getting back there to see what we can do.”

To cap off the weekend, Goldesberry will head to the historic Angell Park Speedway for the track’s season opener.

“Angell Park is a great track, especially in recent visits.” Goldesberry said of the Sun Prairie, WI track. “We’ve had some success there but there’s 10 or so cars that can win there every time we go. It’s super flat and you carry so much speed around that place. Hopefully we’ll be back up front.”
