Goldesberry Earns Top 10 in Up and Down IRA Doubleheader

Jordan Goldesberry’s 2023 IRA Sprints season started off in storming fashion, taking three victories and leading the points standings for much of the early months.

The past two weeks have been a brutal gut check to the Rockstar Energy Drink #65 team.

After a grueling defeat while leading the IRA Feature at Sycamore Speedway on Saturday, June 10th, Goldesberry was brutally honest about the night’s result.

“I gave one away at Sycamore.” The 2022 IRA Champion stated. “Once the track got one lane in the rubber, I tried to make a move around a lapped car and got tangled up. In those situations as the leader you have to “go” and it just didn’t work out. We were really fast all night and the track suited my driving style well. Just hate that we didn’t get the end result for the team.”

It wasn’t all doom and gloom in Sycamore though, as Goldesberry brought the Rockstar Energy Drink #65 out to the local Hy-Vee store and met with an incredible amount of fans throughout the day before heading to the track.

“The Hy-Vee visit was awesome. We had a ton of fan interaction and gave away nearly all our Rockstar Energy supply.” Goldesberry said with a laugh. “It was awesome to see the support for us in our home state and a lot of those fans came out to Sycamore that night as well.”

Goldesberry will also be at the Bloomington, IL Hy-Vee this Saturday, June 24th with the #65 car and hauler. Free hero cards and cans of Rockstar Energy Drink will be on hand.

The next day the Springfield, IL based team traveled a couple hours north to the Angell Park Speedway, where Goldesberry endured another trying night, but this time with a solid result to cap it off.

“We definitely struggled a bit all night at Angell Park.” Goldesberry said of the night’s racing. “We went out late to qualify and that put us behind the ball to start. The team rebounded really well though and we ran 16th to 9th in the feature. Felt good to end the weekend with a good result. The speed is still there we just need to start the night off a little bit better.”

After a weekend off, Goldesberry and the Rockstar Energy Drink #65 team will continue their 2023 IRA Sprints campaign on Saturday, June 24th at the Fairbury American Legion Speedway, for the Bill Waite Jr. Memorial in co-sanctioned action with the Midwest Open Wheel Association. The increased purse event always draws a fantastic field of cars at one of the Midwest’s premier dirt tracks. Tickets are available at the facility on Saturday. FloRacing will provide live coverage of the IRA all season long.

Jordan Goldesberry Racing thanks their 2023 partners for their support this season!
