While the IRA series sat idle Friday, June 20th as Outagamie Speedway’s event cancelled due to overnight showers, Jordan Goldesberry and the Rockstar Energy Drink team hauled out to the scenic Road America to help promote Saturday’s Road America Challenge at the Plymouth Dirt Track.

“After the rainout on Friday we decided to head out there, and when we arrived they asked if we wanted to display the car.” Goldesberry said of the visit to the Elkhart Lake, WI road course. “That was some awesome exposure for us, our partners and the IRA as well. Huge thank you to Road America for allowing us to do that.”

On Saturday night, the Springfield, IL based team made improvements on their qualifying pace; a point of emphasis for Goldesberry so far this season.

“We qualified 8th overall, which is a step up for us this year so far.” Goldesberry said of the qualifying effort.

After a 2nd to 2nd run in its heat race, the Rockstar Energy Drink #65 lined up 11th for the 30 Lap Road America Challenge A Main. Using the hooked up cushion of the Plymouth Dirt Track, Goldesberry quickly worked into the top 10 positions and continued to make steady progress before eventually crossing the line in 6th place at the finish.

“Getting to 6th from 11th was great, but there’s still things to work on early in the night.” Goldesberry admitted. “Getting into the dash redraw is so important to give yourself a chance and we need to do that on a more consistent basis. Looking forward to a couple really cool tracks this weekend in Indiana and Michigan and to try to continue to work on our qualifying pace.”

The IRA tour heads outside the state of Wisconsin next to the Hoosier State on Friday, June 27th at the Bloomington Speedway in Bloomington, IN. Goldesberry put it in the A Main during the IRA’s “Maverick Mayhem Week” at the ¼ mile bullring last season against a 47 car strong field and finished 20th.

On Saturday, June 28th the IRA returns to Butler Motor Speedway in Quincy, MI for the first time since 2005. The fast, high-banked ⅜ mile oval will offer a completely different challenge to Bloomington with average lap speeds well above the 100mph mark.

Tickets for next weekend’s events are available at the track on race day. Both shows will be broadcast live on FloRacing.
