Trevor Frank has battled through adversity in his first two years of racing to achieve more than some racers do in their entire career, including a Track Championship and Feature Win. Some may have expected him to defend his Plymouth Track Title in 2022, however, the Sheboygan, WI based team has decided to take the 21F on the road and battle for wins and podiums at tracks across the Badger State.
“It’s a new situation for the whole team this year.” Trevor said. “We’ve been fortunate to enjoy a lot of success early in my career, but this year will be the most challenging one yet.”
The Frank Motorsports team made several changes to their Sport Mod program in the offseason, one such change being the switch to Rage Chassis for the 2022 season.
“With the new car, the main goal is obviously to get as much seat time as possible and get comfortable with it.” Frank stated. “New car, new tracks, and double the nights of last year all present pros and cons.”
Along with the new chassis, the 21F team will head to 4 different tracks across the 2022 Schedule, with 141 Speedway being the most prominent. The 2021 Plymouth Dirt Track Racing Champion will also contest race nights at Beaver Dam Raceway, The Plymouth Dirt Track, and Outagamie Speedway.
“I’m definitely excited to be running different tracks this year, some new and some familiar.” Frank said. “With points racing not being the main goal, you have to reset your expectations and especially with us stepping into a new environment like we are this year. My only goals for this season are to consistently make features no matter where we run and have fun.”
“Ballpark” and the Frank Motorsports team learned the trials of points racing last year at Plymouth, only clinching the title on the final night of racing, beating Justin Bauer by a mere 2 points.
“Running for points at one single track is more stressful than I think most people realize.” Trevor said with a laugh. “The biggest thing I’m looking forward to this year is being able to get into my car and just enjoy racing as opposed to constantly worrying about points. I had the most fun last year when we ran outside shows, as there were no expectations or nothing really at stake besides the obvious. For sure, there will be good and bad nights this year, but I’m hoping this year can be a learning experience for myself and our whole team.”
Frank Motorsports will be holding their annual Brat Fry once again this year at Odyssey Fun Center in Sheboygan Falls, WI.
“The Brat Fry is such a fun way to raise money for the team.” Trevor said. “We had a great turnout last year and I’m so grateful for everyone who came or donated last year, and I hope to see everyone at Odyssey on April 9th!”
