Doerr Eyes Return to Midwest Truck Series with 31 Motorsports for Three-Race Swing

Over the course of the 2022 season, Derek Doerr has solidified himself as a front-runner in the Advanced Fastening Supply Badger Midget series. Taking his first career victory at Wilmot Raceway on August 27th, and amassing 7 Top 5’s and 9 Top 10’s in just 12 starts with the highly competitive series. However, what some fans may not know is that Doerr has a strong career background in asphalt racing, with an American Super Cup championship in 2015, three ARCA Midwest Tour starts and an 8th place points finish with the increasingly popular Midwest Truck Series in 2021.

As the 2022 season nears its end, Doerr will make his return to the Midwest Truck Series with 31 Motorsports for a three race deal, starting this coming weekend at Jefferson Speedway on September 16th. The trio of events will also include the annual “Oktoberfest” race at the La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway on October 8th and the always popular “Falloween” event at Dells Raceway Park on October 22nd.

“I’m looking forward to getting back on track in the Midwest Truck Series at three fall specials.” Doerr said in a statement. “After having a career best season on the Badger Midget side we’re ready to turn our focus to the Trevor Raskie [31 Motorsports] Midwest Truck for 3 races. We hope to build off the speed we had at last year's Falloween and hope to be a contender the rest of the season. Huge thank you to Trevor and his team for the opportunity to drive his truck!”

Doerr’s career best Midwest Truck Series finish came last season at the Marshfield Motor Speedway, where the Waupaca, WI native finished 3rd against an extremely strong field of competitors. Doerr tallied 1 Top 5 and 7 Top 10 finishes while competing in all 14 events in what was his first full Midwest Truck Series season in 2021. The young gun finished 8th in the final point standings in a season that saw over 50 competitors take the track with the Midwest Truck Series.

Tickets for this Friday’s Wolff Pack Apparel 50 at Jefferson Speedway will be available at the track, with racing action set to get underway at 4PM. More information can be found at jeffersonspeedway.com as well as on their Facebook page.
