Consecutive Hard Charger’s for Goldesberry with IRA, Wilmot & 141 Up Next

Early-night struggles don’t often translate to late-night success, but Jordan Goldesberry and the Rockstar Energy Drink #65 team made a habit of that this past weekend with the IRA Sprints.

After Friday’s Dodge County event was cancelled due to excessively high winds, the team focused their efforts on Saturday’s Scott Semmelmann Memorial at the Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, WI. Qualifying set the #65 squad behind the 8-ball early, but a heat race charge and +7 run in the A Main earned the 2022 IRA Champion a 9th place finish and the night’s Hard Charger Award to go along with it.

It was more of the same on Sunday at the historic Angell Park Speedway, qualifying 24th overall but again transferring through the heat race and a sterling +10 run in the evening’s A Main to an eventual 8th place finish. The double Top 10 result was a solid points weekend for the Springfield, IL native and the #65 sits 6th in IRA points heading into another doubleheader weekend.

“Honestly I’m really happy with our speed late at night.” Goldesberry said of the past weekend’s events. “We found some issues with the car that were affecting our qualifying performance to an extent. We definitely still have work to do there, but if we can get ourselves qualified we can start finishing where we should be.”

On tap this weekend are the Wilmot Raceway for IRA Founder’s Night on Saturday, and 141 Speedway on Sunday. Goldesberry scored a 7th place finish at Wilmot earlier this season, and 141 Speedway has been by far Goldesberry’s best track in recent years. Since 2020, Goldesberry’s average finish at the Wisconsin bullring is an astounding 2.5, with the 3 most recent trips ending in victory lane.
