Tommy Colburn will expand his race schedule and disciplines in 2023, with a full time Midget schedule on tap behind the wheel of the Mike Wallace Racing (MWR) #10 in the Advanced Fastening Supply Badger Midget Series.
“This is an incredible opportunity to race in top notch equipment with a proven team.” Colburn said. “I can’t thank Mike Wallace and MWR enough for the chance to drive a new type of car in a great series like the BMARA.”
MWR has a rich history in Midget racing, fielding drivers such as All Star Circuit of Champions competitor Justin Peck, 3-Time BMARA champion Chase McDermand, and National Midget standout Mitchell Davis.
In addition to a full time BMARA schedule, Colburn and MWR will also compete in multiple POWRi National events and the BC39 with the USAC NOS Energy Drink National Midgets at the Dirt Track at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The New Berlin, WI driver will still contest Midwest Sprint Car Association events in the Colburn Motorsports #1 car as his schedule allows.
“As a kid my family went to Angell Park a lot and I dreamed of racing in the Pepsi nationals, Cornfest and other big races there.” Colburn said about the opportunity to drive a midget in 2023. “Running the full Badger Midget schedule, some POWRi and to have the chance to race in the BC39 at Indy is a dream come true. I can’t wait for the 2023 season to get here!”
